Dwolla, Shazam submit plans to speed payments

Financial technology startup Dwolla and payment processor Shazam Network have submitted proposals to a Federal Reserve task force charged with figuring out how to speed up electronic payments, The Des Moines Register reported.Industry experts say such a system would help consumers and businesses better manage their money. Dwolla proposes a real-time payments system it developed as a model for a nationwide network. Shazam’s proposal focuses on its existing payments network, which includes real-time options for customers.
