Education under secretary to visit DMACC

Under Secretary of Education Martha Kanter will participate in two events at Des Moines Area Community College (DMACC) on Thursday, where she will discuss the key role that community colleges play within the administration’s higher education agenda and how encouraging educational opportunities that meet the needs of today’s job market can help to rebuild the economy. Kanter is scheduled to first tour Accumold Inc., an Ankeny micro-molding manufacturer, before touring the DMACC campus and visiting the college’s health sciences and advanced manufacturing facilities. She will also give a keynote address to 70 business and public policy leaders, students and faculty at a luncheon.
