Youth services nonprofit Ellipsis opened its new Barbara Lee Noble Campus, pictured at right, in Des Moines on Wednesday. The new all-girls campus offers 10 foster group care beds for girls ages 12-17 and eight supervised apartment living units for young women ages 16-21. Ellipsis will provide residents with services such as therapy and education support for job readiness. The new campus marks the successful completion of Phase 3 of Ellipsis’ Hopeful Spaces capital campaign, according to a news release. “This campus fills a critical gap in services for girls in central Iowa,” Ellipsis CEO Kelly Hannan said in a prepared statement. “For the first time, we’re able to offer this level of support close to home — providing not just shelter but also a life-changing foundation of support, healing and hope within these walls.” The Noble Family Foundation and the city of Des Moines each contributed $1 million to the project. The campus is named in honor of Barbara Lee Noble and her family’s legacy of care and compassion, the release said. Photo courtesy of Ellipsis
