The emerald ash borer has been confirmed at the Interstate 380 rest stop in southern Cedar Rapids, state officials reported.

The emerald ash borer has been confirmed at the Interstate 380 rest stop in southern Cedar Rapids, state officials reported. The tree-killing pest has now been found in 29 counties in Iowa, and has destroyed millions of ash trees in 25 states. The metallic-green beetle is about a half-inch long and feeds on the inner bark, cutting off water and nutrients.
