Employers with 401(k) and other participant-directed individual account plans will be given additional time to comply with a new rule requiring employers to disclose fees and expenses of investment options offered by the plans to plan participants. Business Insurance reported that though the effective date for calendar-year plans remains Jan. 1, 2012, the Labor Department is now giving employers until May 31, 2012, to disclose fees and expenses. Last month, the Labor Department said the data would have to be distributed no later than April 30, 2012.
