“KnowJustice: Manifesto” — an art exhibit and events highlighting youth social justice issues — kicks off today with an evening event at the Polk County Heritage Gallery. The art exhibit will continue through May and feature music, writing, visual art, photography and film created by youth in ArtForce Iowa’s programs. The art exhibit and events throughout May are designed to help the community better understand social justice issues from youth who are refugees, immigrants or have had involvement in the juvenile justice system. The opening ceremony will be held from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the gallery, 111 Court Ave. Tickets for tonight’s event are $45; all proceeds benefit ArtForce Iowa youth programming.
