West Des Moines-based Farm Bureau Financial Services’ operating companies were named to the 2018 Ward’s 50 group of top-performing insurers again this year, making it just one of nine organizations named to both the property/casualty and life/health lists. Farm Bureau Property & Casualty Insurance Co. was named among the top-performing property/casualty companies for a fourth consecutive year; Farm Bureau Life Insurance Co. was named among the top-performing life and health companies for the 19th time. Annually, Ward Group analyzes nearly 3,000 property-casualty insurance companies and more than 700 life-health insurance companies in the United States and identifies the top performers in each segment. Other Iowa-based insurers on the Ward’s 50 Life/Health list were Principal Financial Group and EquiTrust Life; on the Property/Casualty list were Grinnell Mutual Group and Pharmacists Mutual Insurance Co.
