Farmers share combines, like homeowners share rooms
Farmers have figured out a way to cut expenses and make more money by sharing equipment, Iowa Public Radio reported. The idea is much like a homeowner renting out bedrooms on Airbnb. The weaker farm economy is making the technique more popular. “You get innovative when things get tighter,” said Chad Hart, an agriculture economist at Iowa State University. “We’re looking for ways to enhance income right now, especially in a low-margin environment.”
