Farmland prices fall 11.3 percent

79 wordsAll Latest News, Real Estate and DevelopmentIowa farmland values dropped an average of 11.3 percent in the year that ended in September, the Realtors Land Institute’s Iowa chapter reported. There were signs that the rate at which prices are falling has slowed. However, all nine Iowa crop reporting districts showed a decrease in the average farmland value, ranging from 1.9 percent lower in the west-central district to a drop of 5.4 percent in the south-central district. The figures cover cash basis sales for unimproved land.
