FIN Capital, an initiative to educate and empower more women to become angel investors, will hold its first investors meeting on Sept. 19, organizers announced. Coordinated by the Iowa Center for Economic Success, the initiative will provide accredited female investors in Iowa with access to investment opportunities in seed-stage to early-stage companies. In July, the center hosted more than 60 women to launch events for people to learn more about FIN Capital. “Supporting more angel investing groups in our state is an important part of creating a robust entrepreneurial ecosystem in Iowa,” said Debi Durham, director of the Iowa Economic Development Authority, who helped jump-start the initiative. Heidi Wessels, director of advocacy and networking for the Iowa Center for Economic Success, said that FIN Capital is a little more than halfway to it goal of enrolling 25 investors and that applications are still being accepted.   Read an article about FIN Capital on BusinessRecord.com.
