Final list of Small Business Recovery Grant recipients released
More than 290 businesses received $1.7 million from the Small Business Recovery Grant Program, announced earlier this year by the Greater Des Moines Partnership to help businesses affected by the coronavirus pandemic. According to a news release late Monday, the final list of 292 businesses in Polk and Warren counties and the cities of Des Moines, Carlisle, Clive, Indianola, Johnston, Norwalk, Urbandale, West Des Moines and Windsor Heights that were awarded grants is on the Greater Des Moines Partnership’s website. The Small Business Recovery Grant recipients are all sole-proprietors or businesses with no more than 30 employees that have had restrictions placed on their operations due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Grant awards ranged from $1,000 to $5,000, with up to $10,000 for businesses in the Des Moines. “The Small Business Recovery Grant program is another example of our public and private sectors coming together to invest in the future of our region,” Jay Byers, CEO of the Greater Des Moines Partnership, said in the release. The grant program was funded through contributions through a partnership of 40 public and private entities.
