FemCity Des Moines last week announced the finalists who will compete in the group’s second annual Flourish event. This year’s finalists include Monika Owczarski of Sweet Tooth Farm, Shawnna Stiver of Kind Co. and Jenny Quiner of Dogpatch Urban Gardens. Flourish is an in-person community-funding event planned Nov. 12 at Mainframe Studios in Des Moines. During the event, selected owners will pitch their plans to grow their businesses to the audience, who will then vote on who should receive the funding. Tickets for the event are $20 per person and may be purchased online through Eventbrite or at the door. In addition to FemCity Des Moines, Flourish is presented by Karen Taylor of Taylored Benefits and the Greater Des Moines Partnership.
