First Bank makes changes
First Bank’s board of directors has announced three changes in its leadership. Rick Messerschmidt has been promoted to chairman of the board and executive vice president of First Bank, and Jeffrey Rose was promoted to the bank’s president and CEO position. Messerschmidt, who was president of First Bank since 1993, has been with the bank for more than 30 years. Rose, who was raised in West Des Moines, graduated from the University of Iowa. Roy Messerschmidt, who will retire as chairman of the board after 73 years in the banking industry, plans to remain active on the board.
