Eight of the Des Moines area’s most respected men and women were selected by dsm magazine to be honored as the first Sages Over 70 winners. The honorees are Robert Burnett, Monroe Colston, Michael Gartner, Willie Stevenson Glanton, William Knapp, Elizabeth Kruidenier, former Gov. Robert Ray and Fred Weitz. The group was selected for the lasting impact each has had on the community. The winners will be honored at an event on Nov. 8 – details to come – and each will be profiled in the next issue of dsm. In addition, a fund to recognize their legacy of giving has been established at the Community Foundation of Greater Des Moines.
