A contract to construct the first offshore wind farm in North America was awarded to Fishermen’s Energy LLC. The project will be managed by AECOM, a provider of professional technical and management support services firm that works with commercial and government clients around the world. Upon completion, the Fishermen’s Atlantic City Windfarm project will provide up to 25 megawatts of energy capable of powering approximately 10,000 homes. AECOM was selected to manage the project located about 2.8 miles off the coast of Atlantic City, N.J., through the phases of engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning and start-up.
