At the end of the month, DGS-Acquisitions LLC, an affiliate of Associated Wholesale Grocers Inc. in Kansas, will acquire the assets of seven Greater Des Moines Dahl’s Foods locations and will move forward with two new brand identities for the stores. According to a news release, five stores will transition into Price Chopper, a Kansas City-market brand known for low prices and high-quality perishables. Dahl’s stores that will become Price Chopper are located on Merle Hay Road, Ingersoll Avenue, Beaver Avenue, Northwest 86th Street in Johnston and Hickman Road in Clive. That transition will begin by the end of March. Plans for the Dahl’s locations on Euclid Avenue and Fleur Drive will be announced in the coming weeks, the release said.
