According to financial services website WalletHub, the chant “buy it, fix it, flip it” could be rising from a neighborhood near you. Des Moines is the ninth-best city in the country to flip a house, according to Wallet Hub. House flipping turned an average gross profit of $68,143 across the country last year. Though a similar number for Des Moines was reported, WalletHub said that Des Moines ranked second in the average cost of a kitchen remodel, third for the cost of rehabbing a full house, 11th for a bathroom, 36th for median purchase price, 54th for gross return on investment and 89th for real estate agents per capita. The study evaluated costs in 170 cities.
