Marsh Inc., a unit of Marsh & McLennan Cos. Inc. (MMC), has named Liz Flynn as president and CEO of its U.S. consumer business, the brokerage announced Monday.

Effective Oct. 1, Flynn will oversee four main business groups: associations, employer benefits, sponsored programs and franchises and private client services. She currently serves as global chief operating officer of Guy Carpenter & Co. LLC, another unit of MMC.

Terry Bernier, who has been interim president and CEO of Marsh’s U.S. consumer business since last November, will become chairman of the unit. Marsh has five locations in Iowa, including an office in Urbandale. Flynn will be based in New York City and Bernier in Chicago.
