The founder of Happy Joe's Pizza & Ice Cream died Tuesday in Bettendorf. "Happy" Joe Whitty was 82.

Des Moines Register: The founder of Happy Joe’s Pizza & Ice Cream died Tuesday in Bettendorf. “Happy” Joe Whitty was 82. Whitty founded the ice cream and pizza chain in Davenport on Nov. 16, 1972. It is now in six Midwestern states.
