The Central Iowa Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) Chapter celebrated the industry’s best and brightest at their recent annual PRIME Awards Luncheon during OctoPRfest, a day-long professional development conference for PR and communications professionals. Individuals were honored in five categories, all of whom made noteworthy contributions to the PR profession in Iowa. The Individual Awards of Excellence recipients include: Outstanding PR Student – Laura Plumb, project manager at Lessing-Flynn; Outstanding New Member – Abby Delaney, PR account coordinator at Strategic America; Outstanding Chapter Member Winner – Courtney Shaw, senior PR account manager at Strategic America; and Outstanding PR Professional – Ann Thelen, president of Thelen Public Relations. Former U.S. Sen. Tom Harkin also was recognized as Outstanding Iowa Advocate. Additionally, 21 PRIME Awards of Excellence or PRIME Awards of Merit were given in 12 categories.
