The Iowa Bicycle Coalition and 80/35 BMX have raised the $47,000 necessary to launch a feasibility study for a new all-weather indoor action sports complex in the greater Des Moines area. The study will begin in July, the groups said. The proposed facility would include Olympic-grade, year-round BMX skate and mountain bike facilities. USA BMX has signed on to support the feasibility study process and host a national event for the project within the first three years of construction. Fundraising was completed last week with a $6,500 matching gift contribution from Voss Distributing, matched by a concurrent donation of $6,500 from Accu-Steel. Minneapolis-based research firm CSL International will conduct the study. For more information, visit the Iowa Bicycle Coalition website.
