Future Ready Iowa Alliance to begin meeting Friday
The full member list of the Future Ready Alliance, a task force created by Gov. Terry Branstad to boost education and training of Iowa workers, has been announced, and the members will meet for the first time on Friday in Des Moines. The alliance, which will be co-chaired by Lt. Gov. Kim Reynolds and Principal Financial Group Chairman, President and CEO Dan Houston, is charged with developing a strategic plan by Oct. 31, 2017, to accomplish theFuture Ready Iowa goal of 70 percent of Iowa’s workforce having education or training beyond high school by 2025. From 2010 to 2025, Iowa is projected to add 612,000 jobs; 68 percent of all jobs are expected to require postsecondary education and training. The group will meet from noon to 3:30 p.m. at the Greater Des Moines Botanical Garden.
