Girl Scouts director to switch chapters
Karen Grode, CEO of Girl Scouts of Greater Iowa, will leave her position in August to move to another Girl Scouts council in the Kansas City area.
The organization will have a farewell reception for her from 4 to 6 p.m. on Aug. 10 at Jasper Winery, 2400 George Flagg Parkway. Grode has been involved with the Girl Scouts for more than a decade; she started as CEO of Girl Scouts of Conestoga Council in Waterloo.
Under her leadership, the Greater Iowa Council has had a 63 percent retention rate, about 9 percent higher than the national average.
