U.S. aircraft parts supplier Goodrich Corp. will buy Microtecnica S.R.L., an Italian manufacturer of actuation systems for the aerospace industry, for about 330 million euros ($466.8 million), Reuters reported. Goodrich said the purchase will increase the company’s exposure to commercial and military helicopters, commercial regional, business and general aviation aircraft and missile actuation. Microtecnica, which employs about 700 people, is expected to have sales of about $220 million in 2011, and would slightly add to Goodrich’s earnings this year, and more in later years. In Iowa, Goodrich operates a turbine fuels technology division that manufactures fuel nozzle components for jet engines.
