Grand View University next week will host Global Vision Week, featuring speakers and events aimed at broadening community understanding of different belief systems and perspectives. Among the featured speakers are Eboo Patel, humanities scholar and founder and president of Interfaith Youth Core, and Jan Low, a 2016 World Food Prize laureate. Also scheduled is a Civility in Politics panel moderated by Iowa Cubs owner Michael Gartner. A Women in Politics panel, poetry slam, and Ancestry.com student DNA reveal are also among other events planned. The Oct. 10-14 series is supported by a $10,000 grant from Humanities Iowa and the National Endowment for the Humanities, along with a $5,000 contribution from Bankers Trust Co. to bring Patel to campus.
