Grand View’s freshman class enrollment jumps 26 percent
Grand View University announced a 26 percent increase in the size of its freshman class over fall 2015, making it the third-largest incoming class in the university’s history. Full-time enrollment is also up this year, to 1,550 students out of a total student body of 1,970. “We’ve worked hard over recent years to demonstrate that Grand View is an affordable option for a high-quality education,” Grand View President Kent Henning said. “I’d like to believe this year’s class recognized that value.” With its GV Complete program, Grand View has replaced charging per semester hour with a four-year pricing guarantee offered to incoming freshmen, along with a breakdown of how much they will need to borrow and what their payments are likely to be following graduation. The east Des Moines university is also an increasingly residential campus, with a record number of students living on campus. All campus housing facilities are nearly full, with 839 students living on campus, a 2.6 percent increase over last year.
