Greater Des Moines home sales up over the last year
Home sales have increased 20 percent in the past year, with 749 contracts closing in April, the Des Moines Area Association of Realtors said today. “We’re four months into 2012 and all of the key real estate indicators are ahead of last year’s stats over the same period of time,” Ken Clark, president of the the association, said in a news release. According to the group, 1,057 contracts were written last month. Houses were on the market for an average of 116 days, and there were 4,565 active listings.
