Greater Des Moines’ well-being ranking slips to 51st
Greater Des Moines ranked 51st this year among the country’s 100 largest metropolitan areas for overall well-being, according to an annual report released today by Gallup and Healthways. Last year, Greater Des Moines ranked 25th among the 100 largest U.S. communities. In this year’s report, the North Port-Sarasota-Bradenton metro area in Florida ranked No. 1 in overall well-being. The “State of American Well-Being” community report is based on the Gallup-Healthways Well-Being Index, which surveys Americans about how they feel about and experience their daily lives.
