GuideOne adds small-business coverage, online portal
GuideOne Insurance announced it will add small-business coverage nationally and has launched an online quoting portal for agents. The West Des Moines-based insurer is introducing the business policy portal in six states — Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Ohio and West Virginia — with a national rollout planned in 2019. The new business line expands the company’s offerings from its traditional areas of church, education, nonprofit and senior living policies. “Agents asked GuideOne for expanded market variety and a more efficient process,” said Stephanie Grobin, the company’s small-business team leader. “GuideOne delivered by adding small-business categories and developing a best-in-class online portal experience to expedite agent business.” Iowa will be among the second wave of states that will be added in the first quarter of 2019, said Dave Dietz, vice president of marketing and communication. “We expect this line to grow significantly, especially as we take it national,” he said. Two additional staff have been hired so far, but the extent to which the initiative may affect future hiring hasn’t been determined, he said.
