Three Iowa organizations were among 218 institutions that received $27.57 million in technical assistance awards to build their capacity through the U.S. Department of the Treasury’s Community Development Financial Institutions Fund, the agency announced Monday. The CDFI Program, along with the Native American CDFI Assistance (NACA) Program, provides monetary awards to invest in and build the capacity of these specialized financial institutions that assist in revitalizing low-income and distressed communities nationwide. Habitat for Humanity of Iowa Inc. in Altoona, the Family Credit Union in Davenport and Casebine Community Credit Union in Burlington each received $125,000 awards. The CDFI Fund also provides financial assistance awards through the CDFI Program and NACA Program to further expand and support the financing activities of CDFIs. The CDFI Fund anticipates announcing the FY 2022 Financial Assistance Awards in early 2023.
