Habitat receives $12 million tax credit award
Iowa Community Development LC (ICD) announced that it has awarded $12 million in federal tax credits through the New Market Tax Credit program to Habitat for Humanity, which will enable the nonprofit organization to build 88 houses in 26 Iowa communities. Additionally, ICD will provide $10 million in tax credits to Winegard Co. of Burlington to assist in a major expansion project that will provide 70 jobs. The two tax credit investments are in addition to nine previous New Market Tax Credit awards in Iowa totaling $110 million. Additional tax credits are available to be awarded, said Dan Robeson, president of Iowa Business Growth Co., which administers the tax credit program for the community development financial institution.
