The United Way of Central Iowa announced Glen Hall (posthumously) and Todd Millang as the recipients of the 2025 Tocqueville Society Award, the organization’s highest honor recognizing individuals whose sustained leadership, service and philanthropic commitment have created lasting impact across Central Iowa.

United Way presents the Tocqueville Society Award to members who “demonstrate exceptional service to United Way and embody the values of generosity, integrity and leadership.”

According to United Way, Hall’s influence continues to influence the organization after his passing.

“Glen Hall’s legacy is deeply embedded in the foundation of our community,” Mary Sellers, president of United Way of Central Iowa, said in a news release. “Even in retirement and while facing significant health challenges, Glen remained actively engaged — joining our Legacy Circle in 2024 to ensure his impact would continue to shape Central Iowa for generations to come.”

Hall was previously recognized with United Way’s Trailblazer Award in 2018 and the Live United Leader Award earlier this year. His family accepted the Tocqueville Society Award on his behalf at the annual Tocqueville Society Celebration on Thursday in Waukee.

Millang, senior vice president at CBRE, has been a Tocqueville Society member since 2007 and contributor since 1997. He has held numerous leadership roles, including serving on the board of directors, campaign cabinet and Tocqueville campaign committee.

As chair of the Tocqueville Society in 2018, Millang helped raise $14.4 million and welcomed 124 new members.

“Todd Millang’s enduring commitment to United Way and his strategic leadership have made a profound and lasting impact,” Sellers said in the release. “His dedication to mentoring future leaders and fostering a culture of generosity continues to strengthen our organization and the broader community.”

Millang was formally presented with the Tocqueville Society Award at last night’s event.

The event also honored members for collectively raising more than $7.3 million in 2024. Each Tocqueville Society member contributes $10,000 or more annually to support United Way’s mission of fostering a thriving community.

“Glen and Todd exemplify the very best of what it means to serve our community,” Monica Friedman, United Way of Central Iowa board chair said in the release. “Glen’s legacy continues to inspire us all — his leadership, generosity and unwavering commitment to others left a lasting mark on Central Iowa. Todd’s dedication and impact are equally profound, and together, their contributions have transformed lives and strengthened our community. I’m honored to help recognize their extraordinary service and enduring influence.”
