The Tom and Ruth Harkin Center, home of the Harkin Institute for Public Policy and Citizen engagement, announced it has received the Gold Rick Hansen Foundation Accessibility Certification, a global inclusive building rating system. The building on the Drake University campus is the second in the U.S. to receive the certification. The Harkin Institute has partnered with the Rick Hansen Foundation, signing a commitment to work with the foundation in the U.S., with the shared goal of a society in which people with disabilities can participate fully.
