High Trestle Trail bridge to be on 2012 Iowa Travel Guide
The Iowa Tourism Office announced that the new High Trestle Trail bridge near Madrid will be featured on the cover of the 2012 Iowa Travel Guide. Starting Sept. 19, Facebook users could vote for their favorite of three potential covers for the travel guide.
The High Trestle Trail cover received 48 percent of the votes. The other options featured a collage of Iowa images and an image of a couple canoeing on the Cedar River in Linn County. During the one-month campaign, the Iowa Tourism Office’s Facebook fans grew from 2,203 to 4,847 and users cast more than 10,000 votes.
