Homesteaders Life Co. announced that its eFuneral Solutions LLC subsidiary has launched an online planning platform to connect funeral providers with consumers through a customizable digital storefront. The website offers a resource to help funeral homes serve customers who want to explore funeral options through a digital platform, said Steve Shaffer, Homesteaders Life CEO. “When we acquired the eFuneral domain name and assets, we wanted to develop an innovative technology solution that would connect funeral homes with more families,” he said. Former Drake University soccer standout Luke Frieberg, who was hired by Homesteaders in 2016 as president of eFuneral Solutions, said eFuneral Solutions seeks to leverage funeral homes’ marketing efforts in the digital world to generate leads and sales. The goods and services are customized to match each funeral provider’s service offerings, and all advance funeral plans are funded with a Homesteaders life insurance policy.
