Greater Des Moines house sales increased 9 percent in October, though the median sales price dropped 5.5 percent to $191,200 from $202,500 in September and 4.4 percent from $200,000 in October 2017, the Des Moines Area Association of Realtors said. Sales rose to 1,141 units last month from 1,043 in September. Sales were at 1,192 a year ago. Pending sales increased to 1,289 in October from 1,209 in September and 1,257 a year ago. Homes that sold last month had been on the market an average of 49 days, compared with 57 days in September. The number of homes on the market increased to 3,911 in October from 3,903 in September and 3,597 in October 2017.
