Hubbell Realty Co.’s Extreme Charity Golf Classic raised a record-breaking $49,500 for distribution to three local charities, according to a release. Big Brothers Big Sisters, Children’s Cancer Connection and Easter Seals of Iowa will each receive $16,500. “This support will allow us to serve not only the current matches, but over 150 young people on the waiting list,” Renee Hardman, CEO of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Iowa, said in the release. More than 250 golfers participated this year. The event also was held in 2011, 2012, 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2018. The golf classic is held on the years when Hubbell is not holding its Extreme Build, in which the company, vendors and other volunteers do large-scale construction projects for the benefit of nonprofits.
