Hurd Realty acquires West Glen property
Operating as Hurd West Glen LLC, Hurd Real Estate acquired the building and land at 5445 Mills Civic Parkway in West Glen Town Center for $825,500. The 7,000-square-foot Harmony Building was originally constructed to house Schaffer’s Bridal store, which last year relocated to another West Glen location. Developed by the late Ed Boesen, the Mills Civic Parkway property was foreclosed on by First American Bank, falling into the hands of that lender in February. Richard Hurd, president of Hurd Realty, tapped Bishop Engineering to conduct a “retracement survey” of the plat in January. He said the two-story building may be suited for retail and office use, and Hurd Realty may explore the option of locating its office there. “I think West Glen in general on the main drag is probably worth taking a look at,” he said. “We’ll just have to see how it all shifts out before we make a decision.” The property has an assessed value for tax purposes of $990,000. The sale closed on April 8.
