The Iowa Economic Development Board this morning approved a tax-incentive package for Hy-Vee Inc. to expand its refrigerated food facility at its Chariton distribution center. The project represents an $18.3 million investment by the West Des Moines-based grocery store chain, and is expected to create 10 jobs. Incentives approved by the board were through the High Quality Jobs program. The board also approved incentives for projects in Cedar Rapids, Council Bluffs, Davenport, Dyersville, Grundy Center, Mason City and Shelby that in total will create 447 jobs.
