Hy-Vee has kicked off its November campaign to honor U.S. veterans and active-duty military members with the Hy-Vee Homefront initiative, which includes fundraising and a free Veterans Day breakfast. All veterans and active-duty military members can get a free buffet-style breakfast from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. at Hy-Vee stores. They will also receive 15% off their grocery purchases on Nov. 10 when they shop at Hy-Vee, Dollar Fresh Market and Hy-Vee Fast & Fresh locations. As part of the Homefront initiative, Hy-Vee is also hosting its annual Homefront Round Up fundraiser at all Hy-Vee stores and Dollar Fresh Market stores across its eight-state region through Nov. 15 to raise money to support veterans, active-duty military members and their families. Hy-Vee will match all customer donations up to $100,000, with all proceeds benefiting Hope for the Warriors, Operation First Response, American Red Cross and the Puppy Jake Foundation. Iowans will also have an opportunity to honor military veterans by visiting the Spirit of Iowa Tribute Bell, which will be at select Hy-Vee locations in north central Iowa, northeast Iowa and in the Des Moines metro now through Nov. 10. The bell symbolizes support for military veterans and service members across Iowa.
