IDALS opens nomination for Conservation Farmer of the Year
The Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship has opened nominations for the Iowa Conservation Farmer of the Year Award. The statewide award goes to a farmer who makes outstanding contributions to soil conservation and water quality. The award is co-sponsored by the Iowa Farm Bureau Federation. The winner gets the free use of a John Deere 6D series utility tractor or its equivalent for up to 12 months (or up to 200 hours). Submit a nomination letter of 100 words or less to your local Soil and Water Conservation District office by June 5.
