IEDA receives $200,000 export grant from SBA
The U.S. Small Business Administration has awarded a $200,000 competitive grant to the Iowa Economic Development Authority for a program to support export growth among small businesses through the SBA’s State Trade Expansion Program (STEP). The program is designed to assist states with increasing the number of small businesses that export and the value of those exports. A total of $18 million was distributed to states nationwide. “We are pleased to again have been awarded a STEP grant,” IEDA and Iowa Finance Authority Director Debi Durham said in a statement. “The funding is instrumental in assisting eligible Iowa exporters to enter and expand into international markets.” The state provided a 33% match of $66,667.
