Elizabeth Presutti has been named general manager of the Des Moines Area Regional Transit Authority (DART).

Presutti has more than 12 years of experience in the transit industry, and has been DART’s chief development officer since 2008. Polk County Supervisor and DART Commission Chair Angela Connolly cited Presutti’s knowledge of the projects that the transit authority has undertaken, including the DART Forward 2035 long-term planning project and the construction of the new DART Central Station hub.

Presutti replaces Brad Miller, who will take over as CEO of the Pinellas Suncoast Transit Authority in St. Petersburg, Fla. Presutti will take over as general manager on Friday.

DART Chief Operating Officer Tom Reynolds was also among the final five candidates.
