Eight semifinalists for the job of president of Iowa State University will be interviewed on Oct. 20-21 by the ISU Presidential Search Committee. The virtual interviews will be done behind closed doors and the identities of the semifinalists will not be revealed, according to a news release. Earlier this month, the 12-member search committee narrowed the pool from 78 applicants. Following the interview of the semifinalists, the search committee will determine who will be invited to on-campus interviews during the week of Nov. 3. Finalists’ names will be posted on the Iowa Board of Regents and the ISU Presidential Search websites 24 hours prior to their campus visit. The Regents are expected to interview the finalists during a closed session at the ISU Alumni Center on Nov. 11. Later that day, the Regents plan to announce the new president. Wendy Winterseen, ISU’s president since 2017, announced in May that she would retire in January.
