Iowa bankers insurance group names new president

Chad Ellsworth has been named president of Iowa Bankers Insurance and Services Inc. (IBIS), an affiliate of the Iowa Bankers Association, according to a release. He will replace Merritt Krause, who will retire on Jan. 1. The organization provides banks with property, casualty, life and health products and serves more than 30,000 Iowa bank employees and their families and nearly 500 bank and bank agency partners. Before joining IBIS, Ellsworth was managing director of the Des Moines office of Deloitte & Touche LLP. Ellsworth has more than 21 years of experience providing audit and accounting services to clients in the Midwest and has audit experience in a variety of industries, including banking, consumer business, agribusiness, investment companies and real estate. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Iowa Society of Certified Public Accountants. Ellsworth is a graduate of the University of Northern Iowa and lives in Johnston with his wife, Melanie, and two sons.
