Iowa casino revenue up 1.2 percent

Iowa’s 19 casinos drew $1.46 billion in revenue last year, up 1.2 percent over 2016. That marked the third year of what the American Gaming Association called “modest growth.” Total admissions to Iowa casinos fell 1.7 percent to 21.3 million. However, spending per visitor was up 3 percent at $68.38.  Machines accounted for most of the gambling at $1.31 billion, up 0.9 percent from 2016. Table games drew $152.1 million, up 3.6 percent. Nationally, casinos took in $40.28 billion in gaming revenue in 2017, up  3.4 percent.
