Iowa Council for International Understanding announces honorees
S. Ahmed Merchant and Alejandro Orozco will be honored during the Iowa Council for International Understanding’s Passport to Prosperity dinner Sept. 17 at Drake University’s Olmsted Center. Merchant, chairman and CEO of Merchant Investment Trust, which is an operator of Jimmy John’s Gourmet Sandwiches and Java Lava Coffee Inc., was born in Karachi, Pakistan. Orozco, vice president and community development officer at Bankers Trust Co., was born in Mexico City.
