A national initiative aimed to improve patient care through medical education has selected the medical education program at Iowa Health – Des Moines to participate. The Alliance of Independent Academic Medical Centers (AIAMC), a national membership organization based in Chicago, is sponsoring the initiative.

This national and multi-institutional effort is focusing on education, hospital quality and safety strategies. The initiative provides education, team training and support to participating hospitals, and equips participants with the tools and infrastructure necessary to accomplish meaningful improvements.

Thirty-eight AIAMC hospitals and health systems were selected to participate.
