Iowa Health System has finalized an agreement with Meridian Health Plan that will enable Medicaid beneficiaries who are Meridian plan members to obtain healthcare services from Iowa Health hospitals and physicians across the state. The agreement, effective Sept. 1, will allow the organizations to provide a more coordinated experience for Medicaid beneficiaries in Iowa, with a goal of reducing costs of providing care. Iowa Health officials said they hope the agreement will allow them to negotiate alternative payment arrangements for Medicaid patients with the state of Iowa.
