Iowa house sales in third quarter best in 8 years

97 wordsAll Latest News, Real Estate and DevelopmentThe Iowa real estate market had the best third quarter in eight years, with the median sales price up 5.1 percent and home sales up 5.2 percent from the third quarter of 2014, the Iowa Association of Realtors said in a release. Year-to-date, 32,055 houses have been sold, with 12,326 sold in the third quarter. Houses sold in the third quarter were on the market an average of 67 days. Year-to-date sales have outpaced last year’s numbers by nearly 8 percent. The median sales price in September was $139,500, a 5.9 percent increase from a year ago.
